Lithgow 7-Eleven welcomes first customers

Lithgow, the wait for one dollar Slurpees is almost over with the new 7-Eleven service station set to open its doors on Thursday.

Residents will also be hoping the fuel and convenience store retailer will also shake up Lithgow’s petrol prices with their added competition.

Krispy Kreme Australia also announced they will be handing out free doughnuts at 4pm on Thursday.

The 7-Eleven is part of a wider development on the corner of the Great Western Highway and Main Street, also known as Dunns Corner.

This includes a Mexican food outlet, Zambrero, in the former Cooerwull Presbyterian Church to open in about a month’s time.Isaac Property is in charge of the development and director Ben Isaac spoke of the impact the new retailers will have on Lithgow.

"It will bring a lot of jobs, it will bring better facilities to people on the highway in particular with a brand new service station and it will bring an alternative to McDonald's in terms of a food offering," Mr Isaac said.

The development will also provide additional parking spaces and easier access to McDonald's with an entrance on the Great Western Highway connecting through to the fast food outlet and out onto Main Street.
